Hey! We welcome back Making Sound Machines at Dutch Modular Fest! Kits are beginner friendly and over the course of a timeframe of max 2hrs, the MSM team is there for you to help soldering and problem finding, give patching tips, test out your freshly build module and more!

No materials needed to get extra for the workshop, you can bring your own soldering iron if wanted!

Farbfilter Series

Sound colouring modules in 4HP

Our Farbfilter (colour filter) series is a range of sound colouring modules for Eurorack. These modules are a personal take on our favourite analogue effects circuits from East and West Coast Modular Synthesis.

They sound great and underline what we love most about analogue synthesis: their nonlinearities and quirks inspire us to find new sounds. Designed to fit a 4HP footprint, they are compact, tweakable and easy to use.

Plinky v3 – DIY Kit

Polyphonic touch synthesizer

Plinky is an 8 voice expressive polyphonic touch synthesizer that specializes in fragile, melancholic sounds, designed by mmalex. Think of it as an eight stringed instrument, with eight vertical monophonic strips. You can play it straight away on its 64 main pads.

Each of the eight strings has 4 oscillators or sampler grains, detuned by the touch of your fingers, white noise, two ADSR envelopes and a resonant 2-pole low-pass gate. Plinky also has a global delay, reverb, high pass filter and saturation along with a simple mixer, arpeggiator, sequencer and sampler.

It supports four external CV modulation sources, each with their own LFO.
