Modular Synth Beginner Workshop by Jony Wegewijs

Modular synthesiser workshop for super beginner synth explorers! For those who are curious to how the modular synthesiser works, for those who either have no modular system yet, or just stared out with one!

This workshop is all about learning the basic building blocks of a modular synth, how to patch and bring ideas to reality using buttons, switches and jack cables, and how to think out your own system that fits your needs!

About Jony

Jony is a musician of many shapes, as a producer, keyboardist and teacher. They have a lifelong obsession with music theory and have found a new way to push their boundaries using modular synths. Their obsessive nature and fluid identity come together in a style of music that is hypnotic, pulsating, ear-tingling and kind.

Workshop starts at 12:00 and will take about 1.5 hrs, after this walk-in-workshop, you'll be ready to hit the DMF modular market or soldering workshops, to start your modular Journey!

From sound design to modular synth setup, she'll chat with the DMF team about the pro's and con's of modular life and where to find the unexpected.

Workshop Test Equipment by Mono-Poly

17:30 - untill ... who knows how late.. 'till Dennis stops chatting about test equipment which will probably be after 2-3 hours.... 🙂

Let’s dive deeper into the world of Dennis Verschoor the Mack Daddy of modular synth events in the Netherlands. Before Hainbach and before Look Mum No Computer, there was Dennis. If there’s one man who truly saw the magic in these machines and dedicated himself to preserving them, it’s Dennis.

Dennis is the mastermind behind the Waveform Research Centre at WORM Studios, a space that you can actually rent! But hold on to your horses...

Dennis will be holding an exclusive workshop at the Dutch Modular Fest!  Whether you’re intrigued by the concept or a bit terrified by the idea (or the space it might take up), Dennis will guide you through everything you need to know.

KIDS WORKSHOP Waveformers by Musikarbeiter

Open Workshops all midday!

The waveformer installations visualise raw electronic sound from different perspectives in a format designed for kids form 9 to 99. Participants explore concepts like frequency, amplitude, basic waveforms and resonance in a fun and interactive way.

Musikarbeiter creates workshops that are based around sound exploration, research and working with sound rather than creating music in a more conventional way. Even if you’re not a musician, with one twist of a knob, you certainly can become a Musikarbeiter.
